Vehicle Importation Services Terms & Conditions

General Terms of Service

At Global Intrigue Auto Imports, we are committed to making the vehicle importation process as clear, transparent, and straightforward as possible. The following Terms & Conditions are provided for general informational purposes and outline the standard terms that apply to our vehicle sourcing and importation services.

By using our services, customers acknowledge and accept the terms outlined below.

Our Vehicle Sourcing Service

Global Intrigue Auto Imports assists customers with sourcing vehicles through Japanese auto auctions using trusted overseas partners. Vehicles are sourced based on the customer’s requested make, model, year, and general preferences, subject to auction availability and final bid results.

Because auction purchases are competitive and inventory varies from week to week, customers understand that timing, pricing, and availability can change throughout the process.

Estimated Timelines

The typical vehicle importation process may take approximately 8 to 12 weeks, not including delays caused by weather, port congestion, vessel scheduling, customs processing, or other factors beyond our control.

We strive to keep customers updated throughout the process and to communicate important milestones as they occur.

Auction Bidding and Purchase Process

Vehicles are sourced through Japanese auto auctions based on the customer’s request. Final purchase prices are determined by the successful winning bid at auction.

Any pricing estimates provided by Global Intrigue Auto Imports are based on recent sales of comparable vehicles and are intended for guidance only. Estimates do not guarantee the final auction price.

We will not place bids above an agreed maximum bid amount unless written authorization is provided by the customer.

Deposits and Payment Terms

A minimum upfront deposit may be required before bidding begins. Customers may also have the option to submit the full estimated amount in advance, depending on the transaction.

If a vehicle is successfully purchased and a remaining balance is due, payment must be made within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Failure to submit payment on time may result in delays, storage charges, cancellation of the transaction, or resale of the vehicle.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, all payments must be made in U.S. Dollars (USD).

Invoicing and Cost Transparency

After a successful auction purchase, customers will receive an invoice outlining the applicable charges. Depending on the transaction, these may include:

  • Vehicle purchase price
  • Service fees
  • Shipping charges
  • Insurance
  • Freight
  • Inspection or documentation fees
  • Other related import/export costs

Where applicable, any overpayment may be credited toward shipping or other related charges.

Service Fees

Global Intrigue Auto Imports charges a service fee for sourcing, coordination, and importation support. Service fees may vary depending on the size, type, and category of the vehicle.

Our service fee is separate from the auction purchase price, shipping charges, insurance, customs duties, broker fees, registration fees, taxes, and any destination-country charges unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.

What Happens After Purchase

Once a vehicle has been successfully purchased and payment has been verified, the vehicle moves into the post-purchase process. This may include:

  • Payment confirmation
  • Transport to the logistics facility
  • Export processing
  • Documentation and compliance handling
  • Shipping coordination and scheduling

Processing times may vary depending on auction yard procedures, exporter timelines, and carrier schedules.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping timelines are provided as estimates only and are not guaranteed. Actual delivery times may vary based on vessel availability, destination port activity, customs processing, weather conditions, and other third-party factors.

Global Intrigue Auto Imports is not responsible for shipping delays caused by carriers, ports, customs authorities, or circumstances outside of our reasonable control.

Customs, Duties, and Destination Charges

Customs duties, taxes, import permits, broker fees, registration fees, licensing fees, and other destination-country charges are generally not included in auction, shipping, or service estimates unless clearly stated otherwise in writing.

These charges vary by country and may depend on the vehicle’s purchase price, engine size, age, classification, and local regulations.

Customers are responsible for understanding and paying all applicable destination-country charges unless separate arrangements have been made with Global Intrigue Auto Imports.

Working With Your Own Broker

Customers may choose to use their own customs broker or clearance agent where permitted. If a customer elects to use a third-party broker, Global Intrigue Auto Imports is not responsible for delays, errors, additional fees, or other issues caused by that third party.

Vehicle Condition and Auction Risk

Most vehicles purchased through auction are used vehicles and may show signs of age, wear, prior repairs, cosmetic imperfections, or mechanical issues. Auction reports, photos, and available notes are provided as references, but Global Intrigue Auto Imports cannot guarantee the full condition of any vehicle beyond the information supplied by the auction house or exporter.

Customers should understand that purchasing through auction carries some inherent risk.

Order Changes, Cancellations, and Non-Payment

Once bidding has started, vehicle requests generally cannot be changed without reasonable notice. If a bid has already been accepted or a vehicle has already been purchased, the order usually cannot be canceled or transferred to a different vehicle.

If a customer fails to complete payment after a successful bid, the vehicle may be resold or reentered into auction. Any related losses, auction fees, storage costs, penalties, or administrative charges may be deducted before any remaining balance is returned.

Please note that resale value may be lower than the original winning bid amount.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate vehicle preferences and contact information
  • Reviewing estimates, invoices, and vehicle details carefully
  • Making payments within the required timeframes
  • Understanding the import requirements of their destination country
  • Paying applicable customs duties, taxes, registration fees, permit fees, and local charges

While we work to provide a professional and transparent experience, we are not liable for delays, losses, damages, or additional costs caused by auction houses, exporters, shipping companies, customs authorities, brokers, port operators, regulatory agencies, or events outside of our reasonable control.
